Kings Landing Historical
Settlement
An actual historical
settlement where you will see everything done as it was 100 years ago. Horse drawn wagons, cooking on the hearth,
the general store, a stone house that was disassembled and moved to the
present site, a functioning lumber mill run solely by a water wheel and an
excellent eatery! (Located on Trans Canada Highway north of Fredericton) Irving Nature Park
A beautiful peninsula with miles of walking trails or roads if you prefer. Rest areas are scattered throughout. Some have barbecue pits for your convenience. The scenery is so diverse it cannot be described in words. This is a must see if you’re a nature lover! Deer Island (20 min.
free ferry ride) Visit the world’s largest lobster pound and enjoy the unique
fishing villages. This island was
granted to Thomas Farrell in the 1700’s by the King of England and has been
handed down to his descendants. The
ferry ride is a pleasure in itself – the passage is dotted with tiny islands
and you may even see seals. (The ferry leaves every ½ hour from the mainland and the
Island). There is also a ferry from
Deer Island to Eastport mid-June to mid-September leaving hourly from 9 am to
6 pm. Fee is $10 for car &
driver, $2 for each additional passenger to a maximum of $15. Map of

Manan (1½ hr toll ferry ride) If the season is right,
you may see the puffins. If not, just
enjoy the scenery. Visit the
Swallowtail Lighthouse, look out over the cliffs, see the fishing villages
and much more. Ferry leaves daily
(July to September) from Black’s
Harbour at 9:30 am, 11:30 am, 1:30 pm, 3:30 pm, 5:30 and 9:30 pm (For ferry information and
prices call 1-800-561-0123) Campobello Island – Roosevelt House
Visit the summer home of Theodore Roosevelt . There is also a golf course nearby. This island is accessible via a bridge from Lubec, Maine, but it is part of the Province of New Brunswick. Again, it too, is dotted with tiny fishing villages and plenty of friendly people. Ferry runs from June to Labor Day to Deer Island leaving at 10 am, 11:30 am, 1:00 pm, 2:30 pm, 4 pm and 5:30 pm. Fee is $13 for car and driver, $2 for each additional passenger to a maximum of $18. The City of Saint John Just an hour away, this Loyalist City, also known as the most Irish city in Canada, has much to see and offer the tourist. Its well worth the trip! The City of Fredericton Fredericton, also known as “The Elm City”, is the capital of the Province of New Brunswick. It is the home of the Provincial Legislature Buildings, the New Brunswick Museum, Officers’ Square, the University of New Brunswick, and much more! More Facts on New
